 Words in red are tricky words which cannot be sounded out, words in black can be sounded out to help with spelling.

The following lists are High Frequency Words. Your child will bring the list home that they are currently working on. Once they can spell all the words on the list they will move onto the next list. These are tested at the end of each half term.

Topic 

 
Furness Abbey
Our topic this half term is Furness Abbey! We will be spending time looking at the history of the Abbey, maps of the Abbey and the lives of the monks. 

Geography - the location of Furness Abbey,
looking at maps of the Abbey and birds eye views of the layout

Music - choral singing and consolidating learning about pulse, rhythm and pitch
Art - line drawings of Furness Abbey and artefacts from the Abbey and stained glass window art
Computing - taking and editing photographs, saving work in files and internet safety
Science– continuation of work about plants and growing
RE - learning about places of worship and special places

 


PE and Forest Schools

This term our PE days are Tuesday and Friday.

On Tuesday we will be outside playing team games and practising ball skills (please bring trainers). 
On Friday morning we will be completing orienteering activities (please bring trainers). 


Please make sure hair is tied up and no earrings are worn on PE days. 

We will be completing Forest Schools every Friday afternoon (please bring trainers).
