Phonics Screening Information

This half term we will be learning about ourselves. We will be looking at the human body, how we grow and how we can help our bodies to stay healthy. We will also be talking about our families and homes, even using digimaps on the computers to create a map showing our home and school. It would be brilliant if you could practise learning your address and birthday as we will be using them in our topic work. During art we are going to paint our faces, sketch a symmetrical face and create a 'when I grow up ...' picture. We will be baking and cooking healthy foods, sometimes using produce from our allotments and hedgerow. During music we will be learning body songs and practising a song to sing at the Harvest Tea. We are going to have a very fun and busy half term!

PE and Forest Schools

This term our PE days are Monday and Tuesday.

On Mondays we will be inside developing our gymnastics skills.
On Tuesdays we will outside be completing orienteering activities and climbing wall challenges (please bring trainers).

Please make sure hair is tied up and no earrings are worn on PE days.

We will be completing Forest Schools every Friday afternoon (please bring wellies/old trainers, an old coat and warm clothes).

Thank you.

Keep checking back, more coming soon to the Year 1 Class Page...
