The following lists are High Frequency Words. Your child will bring the list home that they are currently working on. Once they can spell all the words on the list they will move onto the next list. These are tested at the end of each half term.

Information for Parents
Phonics Screening Information
Our topic for this half term is Rule Britannia. We will be completing a variety of projects and activities based on the United Kingdom. Please see listed below the subject areas our topic will cover:
History - The Royal Family and their family tree
Geography - 4 countries of the UK (names, locations on a simple map ,capital cities, flags and culture) and the surrounding seas
Art - Artist study of L.S. Lowry
Design and Technology - baking and cooking traditional British foods (scones, empire biscuits, welsh cakes and soda bread)
ICT - researching information about the UK, creating information
leaflets and finding out how the Queen’s communication has changed over her reign
Music - traditional British songs including the National Anthem
Science - weather and seasons
PE and Forest Schools
This term our PE days are Monday and Tuesday.
On Mondays we will be inside learning yoga with Lianne from YoKids.
On Tuesdays we will be inside developing our ball skills and playing team games.
Please make sure hair is tied up and no earrings are worn on PE days.
Forest Schools will restart on Friday 9th February. Please see our newsletter for information about our fire pit morning on Friday 2nd February.
