Senior Teaching Assistant: Mrs Hartley
Our current topic is 'Going on Safari' As part of this topic the children will be learning about the continent of Africa, with a focus on the country Kenya. We will find out about the lives of people living in Kenya, Kenyan geography, food, climate and culture.
Learn It's, CLIC and SAFE Challenges are tested every week and the completed sheets are sent home so that any mistakes can be reviewed at home ready for next week.
Learn Its Steps 1-10
The children are expected to read for at least 10 minutes each night. The children's reading books are changed on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Parents are expected to record their childs reading in their home school reading record.
The children will be given a list of 10 spellings every Monday. These will be stuck into their Spelling and Handwriting Homework book along with the spelling rule for each set of spellings. The children are expected to copy a line of each spelling in joined up handwritng into their book and return it to school the following Monday. Spellings will be tested on Fridays.
Currents spelling rule and word list:
|Spelling rule: if a word ends in a short vowel sound(a,e,i,o)+ a consonant, we double the consonant before adding the suffix - ing.
Physical Education and Swimming Lessons
Our PE lesson will take place on a Tuesday afternoon. All children must have the correct PE kit in school, long hair must be tied back and no jewellery is to be worn.
A weekly swimming lesson will take place on Wednesady afternoons. If any parents are available to join us please contact Mrs Page via email.
